Project Steps

1. These seahorse designs can be etched in stages to eliminate the need to buy multiple stencil sheets and any trimming of the stencils. The technique enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit. It also allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously.
2. To etch in stages, after preparing the glass, etch each element one at a time, beginning with the large seahorse, followed by the smaller seahorses and ending with the words. Be sure to clean the glass completely between each etching.
3. Otherwise, position the large seahorses on the glasses with enough room around them to add other small seahorses and lettering around it in the locations you want. Arrange, and trim if necessary, the smaller seahorses close to the larger. Place the words last.
4. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the designs onto the glasses.
