Project Steps

1. This design was etched in stages.The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously. Additionally, it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
2. This design also used a masking technique which allows for the selective use of certain parts of a stencil in specific locations.
3. After preparing the glass, place the Every Inch along the top edge and the World's Best and Grandpa stencils along the bottom edge of the flat surface of the ruler. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch these onto the ruler.
4. Place the letters for THE into the middle of the ruler between the two rows of words. Use the etching cream,as before, to etch THE onto the ruler.
5. Lay the star border across the flat surface of the ruler. Securely cover with masking tape all open design areas on and around the words where you do not want the stars to be. Use the etching cream again to etch the stars onto the ruler.
6. Add sparkly stars around the etched stars and pinhead crystals in etched stars as desired.
